During the press launch for the 2011 GSX-R600 – held recently at Barber Motorsports Park in Leeds, Ala. – Suzuki stated that more than 360,000 GSX-R models have been sold in the U.S. since 1986.

"To us at Suzuki, the GSX-R is a brand, it's not just a model," said Rod Lopusnak, National Sales Manager at American Suzuki. "That's how important the GSX-R600, 750, and of course 1000, are to us, to our company. That [GSX-R line] is our DNA. That’s what Suzuki is."

American Suzuki didn't have the best year in 2010, but with its new middleweight supersports the company has high hopes of turning matters around in 2011, while at the same time continuing to build on the heritage of GSX-R name.

I was just browsing for related forum posts for my project research and I happened to discover yours. Thanks for the excellent information!
it looks sick. lowered redline though. i could see myself on that bike in 5 years when it becomes a more reasonable price
It's a completely new bike IMHO. Ligther, shorter wheelbase, new redesigned engine, frame, braking system, computer mapping for the streets and for the tracks,,,,, and the list goes on and on :biggrin. I am saving for the 750 in which it's going to be my new baby GIXXER :cheers.
It's a nice bike but I think the pricing in this economy is why sales are low

??? The snow is still on the ground in much of the US. The thing only started showing up at some dealers a few weeks ago.

How can you possibly claim "low sales" when sales haven't even begun?

It'll take a while before anyone knows if the pricing will be a real issue or not.

I was talking about sales in general because I went to a few dealers trying to see the 11's and they still had some new 09's
wish I could get a new 750...why does my credit rating have to be so ghetto! :hammer I wonder how much more weight you could drop off the bike if you went with a full Ti race exhaust/shorai battery/ and wheels...? Probably a 330 lb bike!
The economy hit bike sales hard. I found my 08' last year in the dealer with 0 miles. Some.dealers still have 08's and for sure 09's

Oh, cool. Then I can get a leftover '11 hella cheap a couple years down the road. :lol
Has anybody seen them yet? The white looks nice in person

Yep, I've seen them & sat on one. I decided to go with a 600 in may/june. I was leaning towards the 750 for only a few hundred more, but I'm more of a backroad twisties guy & I very rarely open a bike up on the flats. 600 is plenty of bike for me. Just gona keep the stock pipe on till a full pipe/pc is realeased.

Yeah I was the first to get a chance to sit on the one in the showroom I'm aiming for June
:hammer Hey there anyone I have a problem with my clutch and was wondering if anyone can shed any light to it. Was working fine now when I start it and put it into gear it just stalls and has no clutch I let it warm up and the clutch will work again and now it won't work at all. Although it will engage when engine not running at all will appreciate any help Thanks.
Oil level is fine and good in color.
Problem just suddenly occurred. :crying:bitchslap
Had a go on one last Friday, far too cramped now (im 6ft), glad I got the L0 instead..

Seems they have gone to the ultra compact to try keep up with the R6 and RR etc around a Track....

Saying that, it goes like stink and changes direction phenomenally, just no comfort at all!

I suppose if you want comfort you go for a tourer :) !!
If they made the 2011 1000 in that white color that the 2011 600's come in, I would have already picked one up. Hopefully the 2012's have something similar. I always thought my bike was the best color ever produced...until I saw that. Sick.
Ima tell you right now boys, this fuckin bike is the shit, I love it, fast but not too fast, easy to adjust mid corner, sounds kick ass, looks pretty good too. And most important, it's suprisingly comfortable, no real issues on long rides.
i'm waiting for ballsak to give his review on it...
