2011 Suzuki GSX-R600 and GSX-R750 Revealed

American Suzuki surprised the industry last year by deciding not to import 2010 streetbikes while it tried to clear inventory in a depressed market. But for 2011, it's rebounding in a big way with the introduction of a comprehensively reworked GSX-R600 and its identical-twin brother, the GSX-R750.

The GSX-R series is integral to Suzuki, so the Gixxer 600 and 750 received a major investment in technology and updates.

"We built our brand from the GSX-Rs," said Steve Bartolamedi, American Suzuki's senior communications manager. More than 300,000 Gixxers have been sold over the years, and the GSX-R600 has long been America’s best-selling sportbike.

Thanks for the post. not sure what to think about that model, but I would like to ride it.
new 600 22lbs lighter w/ nearly the hp of my '09 750? wow
How can a 600 & a 750 be "identical twins" as reported in the article? :scratch
Some editing.

Physically they're almost indistinguishable. Same size, same ergos.

The only noticeable difference from a static physical standpoint is that the 750 weighs a bit more.

Riding is very different, I'm sure. Big difference in power and torque.
^^^I agree with you about the price. 11.5 & 12k seem high for the 600/750 throw in tax etc... and your in the mid 12's:sad

I've always been a gsxr guy, but I think they'll need to bring their pricing down to stay competitive? In theory I can buy a new ducati 848 evo for 13k or the new agusta f3 675 for 13-14k. Granted not everyone is into euro bikes, but 12k for a 600 seems ridiculous & your now into liter bike pricing.
Consider that in the UK the 2011 600 is priced at ~£9500 or $15200 it is crazy money, considering I paid less than that (£8500) for my 750 new in March last year I am not convinced that the difference is worth the massive price hike?
Unless you are just dying for a 600cc you would have to be crazy to pass up the 750cc for a $400 difference.
Agreed.

Anyone have a handle on the insurance price difference between a 600 and a 750? Trivial? Non-trivial?

In Jersey, the insurance for the 600 and 750 are the same :cheers
yeah I agree that the new headlight needs to go...but the new instrument cluster looks pretty good, I think
Insurance for a 6 and and a 750 are the same. I think the new look is kinda kool, but I don't care how kool it is, I am NOT paying that much for either one. I have a 07 750 and an 06 1k and I'm pretty sure they run about the same going from my house to work in the morning, and on weekend trips around coastal NC.
Anybody else notice looking at the headlight front view it looks like a dogs face? lol
