2011 Suzuki GSX-R600 and GSX-R750 Revealed

American Suzuki surprised the industry last year by deciding not to import 2010 streetbikes while it tried to clear inventory in a depressed market. But for 2011, it's rebounding in a big way with the introduction of a comprehensively reworked GSX-R600 and its identical-twin brother, the GSX-R750.

The GSX-R series is integral to Suzuki, so the Gixxer 600 and 750 received a major investment in technology and updates.

"We built our brand from the GSX-Rs," said Steve Bartolamedi, American Suzuki's senior communications manager. More than 300,000 Gixxers have been sold over the years, and the GSX-R600 has long been America’s best-selling sportbike.

Spring 2011?

This is usually the case, March-April time frame.
kinda looks meh... but idk maybe it will grow on me
I'm feeling the 600, hope yosh has a full pipe available at launch?
You guys are too worried about the looks, throw some race plastics on it and call it good.
true. still with race plastics i think it will still be ugly as shit this bike doesnt say badass to me like the 05 1k with the yellow and black paint. U always need that bike in your pit that looks fast even when you're

i wonder how much its gonna cost prolly 15k i remember when 600 where like 7k
I was second guessing my desicion on buying the 2010 600 but after seeing this my mind is at ease... Im with you guys, that headlight is kinda fucked up. The weightloss and brembos are kinda cool. But not enough to make me regret my choice.

As for when they're released, I was talking to the sales guy I dealt with and he said by feburary, thats for Canada btw.

ps. the tail section is fucking hot
Overall i like it but the headlight is taking a step back. There's alot of little details i like that are different from my 09.
Wow, she sure is pretty!! Looks like I am going to have to trade up this year!!
Hey, some advise while I am at it... I have a 600 now and would like to upgrade ... realistically what is the difference in the 750 and the 1000 (other than cc's obviously..lol)
750 is good compromise between 600 and 1000.

600 and 750 revvier and buzzier, you can feel the power more, relatively. 1000 has tonne of torque, pulls much harder from any revs in all gears. quite different

arguably 600 and 750 more "fun" to ride IMHO, but more gear changes. smaller bikes scream at 10-14k revs.

1000 def. not for the inexperienced, great for the experienced. 1000 still quite user-friendly and rideable, just brutal power.

power commander and exhaust system may get you 135-140hp from the 750, quite respectable, similar to early r1s, plenty for the novice rider such as myself, for road and track.

some riders simply don't need let alone can't use 160hp, only on the track if you wanna keep your licence.

a review a few years ago stated for the 1000:
Pros: deceptively fast
Cons: deceptively fast.

each to their own of course...

cheers to all, great site, may the force be with you.

Much like other's not a fan of the headlight!

Just picked up a new L0 750 after contemplating waiting for the new L1 750. I liked the new features on the L1 (brembo's and Showa BP forks) But seeing as i'm extremely impatient i couldnt wait any longer and got the L0. Haven't regretted it one bit since i picked it up 3 weeks ago!

nice one mate.
not bad.. maybe it has to grow on me a bit more but not bad.
Wonder why? I have been a GSXR rider for 20 yrs I refuse to buy another because they ALL look ALIKE. They deserved it. Untill they get their S(*& together they lost me. Not only that they are UGLY as HELL!!!! Ill bet you the new 1000 will EXACATLY like the 600-750.
Pictures dont do justice at all...but so far id rather have my 06 750
It's meant to be 16lbs lighter than the previous genaration bike. It's finally lighter than the 2001 bike was.
The 06/07 models are better looking. The brembos are a nice touch. Still, all in all, I'd rather have my 07. Knocking 20 pounds off an 07 model is not that challenging and of course the price of the new bikes is way up too. Will need to start looking for brembos in the spring when all the newbies start tossing their 600's down the road.
^^^I agree with you about the price. 11.5 & 12k seem high for the 600/750 throw in tax etc... and your in the mid 12's:sad

I've always been a gsxr guy, but I think they'll need to bring their pricing down to stay competitive? In theory I can buy a new ducati 848 evo for 13k or the new agusta f3 675 for 13-14k. Granted not everyone is into euro bikes, but 12k for a 600 seems ridiculous & your now into liter bike pricing.
Most people are faster on the 750 than the 1000. I know I am... even if I don't care because I like stupid power. :)
what happened to the traditional blue/white gixxers, the signature colour? the gixxer has lost it's skin. I have k9 750 in the candy blue. where is the blue now? blue and white are synonymous with suzukis and gixxers, you see the colour and you know what brand or make the bike is. bring back the traditional royal blue or even the candy, not this dark navy blue dullness. now there is some sort of lavender/mauve colour scheme, wtf?
I love this bike for some reason. Would take it over my k6 any day. Too bad about the price.
