Hi all. New here and thank you for reading my post.

I have a 2009 GSXR-600 and I am interested by suggestion of a buddy in putting 06/07 headers and a slip on.

I THINK I have a decent understanding of the benefits of this and would like to confirm what I THINK I know

And I would also like to be made aware of things that should go hand in hand with doing this set up. Thanks in advance.

After proof reading I saw the questions might be unclear.

The questions are exactly.

What are the benefits and what else should I be aware of while doing this?

Thanks again.

Doing a swap to 06 headers and a slipon will get rid of the cat converter. That's not a benefit for a street-only bike. It will make a shitty power curve.

I did it by following a thread on here. I cut the cat off my 08 header, and slid on a 07 slip on. Simple and easy. Headers stayed on the bike the whole time

As previous poster has suggested , cut the CAT out and either get a de-cat pipe (about £37 on ebay) or get a K6-7 end can (which allegedly fits straight onto the headers you've just cut (but I'm not 100% on this) ...

Personally , I bought the £37 de-cat pipe and cut the thing out, then bought a decent slip on and had it remapped by a Yoshi box on a rolling road.

Lost weight and gained power.

This thread is still kickin, lol? It works. Here is the thread I followed with pics. I just copied him. 07 slip-on slides right in and bolts up to the stock mount.
