I just bought my 2006 1000 and it has a FI light and says check coolant. its not over heating, do i just need to flush coolant or is this a bigger issue?

You might have a faulty ECT (Engine Coolant Temperature) sensor, what about the temperature reading on the dash?

Is the C15 error code?

nothing says any C codes ive read something about dealer mode to see that? but im pretty new to all this but temp on dash seems to be average stays between 160-200*

Well, flushing the coolant will certainly not resolve the problem, the bike has no way no know when you have to replace the coolant, so, I suggest you to reconnect the ECT and do some start cycles to see if the FI light goes away, maybe it's just an old error code from previous maintenance...
