2006 GSX-R 600 Water pump o-ring

I am in the process of replacing the water pump. The new pump came with the o-ring already installed on it and the o-ring appears to be completed dry.

Could somebody please answer the following questions:

- Does the o-ring need to be removed to be lubricated also on the groove side? If so, what is best way of removing the o-ring without damaging it?

- I have some waterproof grease made by Maxima Racing Oils. Is this grease equivalent to Suzuki Super Grease "A", recommended by Suzuki for lubricating the o-ring in question?

Thanks

You could remove the o-ring with an o-ring pick...or a small screw driver...you have to be super careful that you don`t knick it...then when you put it on, you have to make sure that it hasn`t twisted.

I use Dow Corning o-ring lube.

In your case, I would just smear some engine oil on it...the whole point of this exercise is not to insert the o-ring dry...lube it up, install it, done.
Many thanks for your help. I placed an order for the Dow Corning o-ring lube.
