Hi guys

new to the forum and need a little help. Only been driving bikes for about 2 years but having a problem with my Gsxr

had been sitting doing nothing for around 8month only issue was rectifer

when I went back to it has the usual issues battery flat rectifier etc. these all sorted now and rectifier relocated.

what’s happening is it starts and ticks over fine, engage clutch select first it dies. Starts straight back up. It’s not stand i bridged that to rule it out.
If I leave it ticking over and it’s warm it some times selects first sometimes doesn’t if I give it a good Rev and drop into first it goes then have no issues with it rest of day, if it’s then left few days same issue?

some say oil pressure? Would changing oilhelp? In the dark a little

Thanks in advance

hmm, whats causing this? is it a wiring issue cutting the ignition off? fuel related? go thru the wiring very good, clutch sensor the works all connectors clean and pack with dielectric grease...

ignition? wiggle wires

Where is clutch sensor situated as a said new to this thanks for help though much appreciated
What's it idling at?
clutch sensor in on the clutch perch, check all your wiring, siggle around, clean and inspect all your wires and clean connectyors pack with dieelctric grease.. if the stator and or recotfier went it may have flooded the system with heat and melted things, clean everything up, inspect for melted areas back to front, worth it but you get to know your bike and have a chance to clean and tidy up, detail it know what you have
It’s idling just over one. It will not go into gear at all now starts up everytime but cuts out soon as go to engage first
Bump your idle up to 1400.
The idle should be between 1200 and 1400 per the manual. Although raising it may help, it technically should operate just fine at 1200. Make sure your clutch cable is adjusted properly. You could be lugging the motor too much if your clutch is not disengaging upon shifting into first. Does the bike jump forward when you shift into first?

On the 600 K4 model, the clutch sensor should be on the clutch lever assembly..it is a such small switch that is activated when you pull in the clutch lever. 14 years ago, I was lost too, and I didn't know where to find it lol :D
