Hello all! I’m deciding between purchasing a 1999 GSXR 750 SRAD or a 2002 and Yamaha R6. I’m hoping y’all can help me make the decision. Here’s a little info on the bikes.
99’ GSXR has 34,000 miles on the bike but looks to be in immaculate condition! Apparently The seller bought it from a gentleman who was 62 bought the bike brand new in 1999 and took care of the bike and maintenance to meticulously. But he sold the bike because he was getting older and got a Vmax to ride. The seller had the bike listed for $4,200 he brought it down to $3,500. I contacted him and and he agreed to $3,000 if I buy the bike cash this weekend. I will attach pictures of both bikes.
OR the 2002 Yamaha R6 with 25k miles on it. Seller had it listed for $3,500 also agreed to $3,000 he said “The previous guy replaced everything from the fuel pump to the clutch because it wouldn’t run. It’s got new brakes, tires, fuel pump, chain, like $2600 worth of parts.I got it, cleaned the carbs, and replaced the fuel pump relay and it runs great. And put the clutch and everything back together” which bike should I purchase?

been a Suzuki guy all my life, l have 2 SRAD's, 600 and FI 750, me? I'd go for the Deltabox in a heartbeat simply cuz its a 2002 and those R-6's are the Champion years and look badass, good bikes too, downfall is you would be trading FI for 37mm Keihin CV Downdraft w/throttle position sensor, carbs a mofo to maintain anymore with Ethanol unleaded, plain ol mofo, however the SRAD tank can spoil and turn to gel if left over a winter in a dry climate, ask me how I know

Hey Roy what makes you say the R6 the photos on the GSXR look cleaner?

there is no doubt in my mind the SRAD is the better bike, and tis real clean too, the rear seat is a mismatch is all you can find a black seat or the original hump and its a decent ride for sure, 750 a lot more fun no jokes.. by a fair stretch too, but look at that R6, those are cool bikes and that bodywork, man I want a red/white champion R-1 myself....

the SRAD being a 750 fuel injected is the stronger more reliable engine all day long, no jokes, FI over carbs?

but look at the styling of the R6... gorgeous bike IMHO

also I have 2 SRADs already, 1 600, 1 FI 750, the R-6 would be a nice hoolie tool, if a guy could adapt modern R-1 or R-6 FI and forks onto that bike? then it really be something, one of if not the best looking R-1's Yamaha ever made IMHO, simplicity can be an asset sometimes and the R-6 certainly wouldn't be out of place with your modern sportbikes, the SRAD however.... um..... it's more on par with a Busa.. both good bikes really
