Looking at pulling trigger on my friends 92 gsxr 750 it does have 40k for my first real bike. He has had it for about 5 years and barely rode it. He bought it from an older guy who wasn’t riding it. He got all 4 carbs aligned with each other and runs good. He paid 500 for it . Just put a 500$ rear tire on. Says goes really good and he is a larger dude. Also is a friend that is very trustworthy genuine guy. How does 1000$ sound.

92 was a great year for colors, always loved those bright electric colors, blind cagers see em better.. lol

mana $500 rear tire? what is it?

if it's clean, legit, runs good, why not?

hard to find a bike that gets you from point A then to B for a grand.. got pics?

did he clean the carbs or just sync them, todays gas play havoc on carbs if a bike sits a while..

I’m not sure the brand of a rear tire but he said it cost 500 for it. Like I said he isn’t the type of guy to lie and is always a fair and honest man. I’m not 100% sure if they were cleaned but I know they were synched I can attack a picture he took a year ago going to help him tommorow and take it for a spin. 40k seems like a lot …not really over the course of almost 30 years tho.

That's not a GSXR...it's a Katana (GSX-F) with a GSXR sticker on the front.
The skinny rear tire didn't cost $500, unless he paid $350 to have it mounted, balanced and installed...which would be ludicrous.

I wonder what else your friend doesn't know about the bike? I'm sure it wasn't malicious, as he likely wasn't intentionally misrepresenting it...but just because a guy owns a bike, doesn't mean he knows his ass from his elbow.

If it runs and stops etc...it's probably worth a grand, you could do a lot worse...but it's no GSXR.

Well that’s good to know. I’m glad I started this thread. What’s the actual difference from the 2. How did you tell. Plastics headlights? Also I believe the picture is before the rear tire was replaced. I’m surprised he was under the influence it was a gsxr.

katana is a sport touring bike, GSXR is a sportbike (race replica) so a lot is different form horsepower, to suspension, ergonomics, bodywork, engine, 1 pc front/rear seat vs seperate seats and rear trunk lid cowl option.. tire size so forth, some parts might interchange, levers and such but totally different animals, Katana is more a touring bike where the GSXR is a more aggressive race replica..

as Beairsto says might be worth a grand if its in good shape? I wouldn't want one myself unless I couldn't get anything else sportbike wise, they are definitely reliable and all that, good starter bike you can check bike trader and allofcraigs for going prices on em...

there is a Kanatuna forum here as well you can ask questions there
