1989 GSXR400 Radiator cap size?

Hi, I just bought a 1989 GSXR400 and I noticed my bike overheats pretty fast. The radiator cap is 0.9 and I just bought today a 1.4. Do you think it's an okay cap to use? What's the ideal measurement if ever? Thanks in advance. ☺
