I have a 1989 750 and I have been trying to start her for some time. I've spent alot of time on this and I am completely stumped.

She has.

New Battery and new plugs,

Approx 14 volts at the battery terminals, fully charged. I'm getting almost the same reading from the battery to the coils with the ignition (key) off. When I turn the key it drops to approx 12 volts. (from the battery to the coils)

The coils test good as per the workshop manual with regard to resistance.

The signal generator also is with spec as per the workshop manual with regard to resistance.

I've had the CDI tested in another bike and its good also.

I still cannot see a spark visually but I'm not sure how difficult this is, or how dark it needs to be for me to see it. But I've covered it and got quite close and cannot see any spark.

Everything electric works, indicators lights and it cranks over very strong.

Just had the best start to the summer here in Norway and I've been on 4 wheels::gaah

Please someone must have some Idea that I'm not seeing. In the workshop manual the only 2 trouble shooting ideas for no spark is to replace the CDI or the signal generator.

Any Idea would be super appreciated :)

I would change the HT leads and plug caps - or at the very least unscrew the plug caps, trim the HT leads 5-10mm and screw the plug caps back on - this will ensure there's good contact between coils and plugs. You should be able to see the spark in shaded light.
You could always fit stick coils...they work well.
It's been a good summer so far in northern Europe, hope you get it sorted soon.

Thanks Nick for the reply, The leads tested ok, 34K OHM lead to lead, I had one cap that was not good and I have replaced it. I'll trim the leads back and see if that helps. Thanks again

When was the last time you saw this bike running?

Do you think it's fair to assume that if your battery, cdi, signal generator, coils ht leads and spark plugs are all functional then you have some sort of wiring issue?
Are your previous posts regarding blown fuses etc all resolved?

You shouldn't have voltage at coils with the ignition switch off. How are you measuring that?

Get yourself the wiring diagram and start following it through!!!

The Suzuki manual wiring diagram isn’t as good as the Haynes manual version - get that if you can!

I agree...

“You shouldn’t have voltage at the coils with the ignition off...”
