Does anyone have a rough idea of what 1989-1992 suzuki gsxr 1100 yoshimura duplex pipe is worth. There is one on ebay with all hardware, but it seems the guys reserve is pretty high I'm at 325 bucks with reserve not yet met.

Man that seems pretty pricey for a used system with dent up header pipes????? I bought a Micron stainless system used for $125-150 (can't remember) and it had no dents at all and was in nice shape. I would call, or PM cycle concepts before i bid any higher he can get you a price on a hindle brand new for a real good price.

No the one with the dent is the other one there are 2 on ebay, the dented one has a starting bid of $340 (I think there's a little to much crack being smoked out there). The one I'm talking about is the other one, does have all the hardware and its used. Don't think I'm willing to pay much more, don't believe I'll bid again.

Hey Art whats your bidder ID? I might have been bidding agianst you. I looked in te e-bay ID sticky and did not see anyone with the ashfifty8 id so I have been bidding on this duplex:
Stainless Duplex currently at 255.00If thats you I'll stop bidding.
There is also this one:Other Stainless Duplex starting at 340.00But it is to high a start price. I have a ugly hindle for 125.00 and I was going to put up my Steel Yosh Duplex for 175.00 if I got the Stainless Duplex. I just wanted the Stainless cause its about 1.5 lbs lighter than the Steel. A Ti duplex for a 93-98 1100 just a couple of weeks ago went for 275.00 and it was Ti!

Art: its all yours.

Mr. Tris: The RS3 is a non-duplex 4-2-1 and should have a ovel can (all RS3 are oval). won't make any more power than what you have I think. The Duplex according to Yosh:
"Duplex Race Systems have small canisters attached to the headers for instant power delivery when getting back on the throttle when exiting a corner under race conditions."
99 Yosh book of speed

I have a Race only Dulpex on my 88-7-11 and a Regular Race only 4-1 Yohs on my 90 1100. I can not really tell the difference on the street. I just wanted that one due to the lighter stainless.

Bone's what do you think is a fair price for this pipe. I'm not sure I want to give any more than I already bid, Like I said I'm already at $325 and the reserve is not met, I might go to $350 but how much is it worth

New it was a 650.00 pipe. I was done when I put in 250.00.
It all depends in what you want. If it is a street bike I'd almost go with the new Nickel RS3. It is only 200.00 and the 4-2-1 is a better street pipe.

Hindel makes their pipes in the 4-2-1 style due to the better lower end vs a 4-1, The duplex was designed to give a quicker response out of the corners then the regular 4-1.
My 90 sees track days and that is the only reason I wanted the Duplex. The non Duplex from my 90 is going to go on my 88 as it does not see track use anymore (execpt Drag) and as its getting a Supercharger the Exhaust does not matter.

mmm, is the nickel coated RS3 heavier than the stainless?

I think the 4-2-1 setup should be lighter than a 4-1, anyone?

It also has an alu can, which should be lighter than a stainless....

I am *really* thinking about that nickel RS3....

just added my ebay id to the list btw....

I bought a steel Duplex for my 88/1100 before they stopped making them, but really wanted the stainless which wasn't available. Will the 89/92 pipe work for me? My guess is that it would work, but not fit quite right due to the different header length.? Matter of fact, the one for my bike didn't fit too good either. I had to trim the front fender, and raise the oil cooler slightly to make room for the duplex chambers. If anyone plans on putting a duplex on a first gen bike, I don't think the extra work is worth it. If I had known, I would have gone with the Hindle.

I had simalar Problems putting the Duplex on mine. It needed new lower cooler mounts made as they ran in the same space as the Duplex Cans.

I was talking to a friend today and he put an idea in my head that sometimes you have to pay more than you want to get what you want so I've decided to bid and I found the reserve at $400 bucks(Wow that sucks).

I really wanted to bid on this pipe - and i agree with art , sometimes you gotta go for what you want - but now its reached $466 ,it's way too much for me
( its gonna cost at least $200 to ship to the uk.
)

if anyone spots another one for sale - please let me know , i'd be very grateful.
