Hey everyone, after some info from anyone who has found how to get the factory finish look on the 1985 fork lowers. I have a few sets that have been vapor blasted so have lost the semi polished look, and others that are just ugly and need restoring. I am experimenting at the moment with different "polish" finishes then adding a clear coat.
Any help is appreciated.

I'm pretty certain they were clear anodized from the factory. I've got a set where the anodizing has sloughed off. I was considering vapor blasting and then using a clear of some sort. Maybe a semi-gloss type appearance.

there are places that can recoat the lower tubes maybe they do the uppers as well? factoryconnection does both, bunch of em maybe at least get the process
