The R6 tube is about 1/5th the price of the adaptor...

The yamaha tubes are a MUCH better option

Go with the R6 tube for something close to a 1/5, or the R1 tube (which I like better) for something closer to a 1/6.

Both will be just a little shorter than the stock gixxer tube. Either trim your grip a little to compensate, or buy a grip that will fit the yami tube.

Me too. Like Wiz said, it doesn't really matter. But if you're running a stock throttle housing/kill switch, and you want the end of the throttle tube to line up with the end of the clip-on...

Simply drill another index hole in the clip-on down about 1/4" (measure it - I'm going off memory here) from the original. That's the hole that the throttle housing indexes on to keep it in one place on the clip-on.

I put the 1/5 on my 1000 and the 1/6 on my 600. Rather be hamfisted with the 600.

I put the R1 tube on (haven't ridden with it yet). It's cake to mount. It lines up OK. We're talking like 2mm here.
