My 2008 gsxr 600 suffered catastrophic engine failure a while back, and I finally had the opportunity to do something about it this year. I found a 2013 750 bare engine to put into the bike and I plan to make it a track bike. I know a lot of people said I would need the the 11’+ harness, throttle bodies, clocks and ecu...but as a former Suzuki tech (I’m a BMW/Triumph tech now) I sorta refuse to believe I need the whole electrical outfit, but I am always open to learning something new. My thinking is since all the plugs match I should be able to use the same harness and deal with the ecu separately; the only thing I can’t verify on the harness is if it has the same ecu connector as the later bikes, as I don’t have a 11’+ ecu to match it up to. Can anyone confirm the harnesses are the same from 08’-13’? Also since I plan to make it a race bike can I just reflash the ecu telling it there’s more volume now? (Similar to someone boring and stroking the motor) or do I need an actual 750 ecu, I don’t have much experience with reflashing and it’s capabilities.

That's a lot of "If"'s to be dicking around with
You might get away with the same loom, if it has the same/equal amount of connections, And that's not taking into account if it's even possible to flash an entire 600 ECU to all 750 values
But I don't know if '11 engines have more/other value sensors than an '08, for which you might need an entirely different ECU
