Back in December, I was riding from Texas to California when all of a sudden, my 07 GSX-R600 just dies. Its rpms go from 6-7k all the way down to 0 before stalling and I can’t give any rpms at all. I also noticed a very weird smell, similar to gun powder. I get it looked at and they say my clutch is fried so I get the clutch and oil changed. I didn’t think it was the clutch since the rpms would sky rocket. Anyways, fast forward to a couple weeks ago. I get it back from the shop (I wasn’t able to pick it up due to my job,) and I notice the weird burning smell is still there. I bring it up but they said it could be the new fluids they sprayed on my bike, and my engine is just burning that up. It gets to the 4th day and I still smell the burning. At this point, I’ve put 100 miles on since the repair. I am riding back to texas when all of a sudden….the same issue. Rpms drop to 0 and I can’t do anything about it. I bring it back to the shop and they say my battery, air filter, fuel pump, and spark plugs are all good. They do find that my fuel injectors need to be changed. Are they just trying to take my money? I feel like a diagnostic couldve picked that up instantly (which I got in December.) what else could the issue be? Especially with that burning smell.
Edit: I also forgot to add that the regulator/rectifier is good too. I changed it recently and made sure they checked it.
