Could you please explain to me what "chatter" mean? I want to do this mod because some time when I launch the bike, the clutch won't grab at the same place as usual wich cause an unpleasant launch. Is that what the mod will correct?

Sorry if it was asked before.

Hello there,

Yesterday i have done clutch mode on my Gixxer 1000 K6 nevertheless clutch was perfect.I did everything according to pdf.
My OEM lifter pins were 3mm out from the nut and thats exactly what I get turning out lifter pins 2 1/4 turns.
Is this correct or not, I am not sure I understand quite in pdf how to setup after mod.If it is 2 1/4 turns out it is the same as OEM?
Please advice

You did it correctly... for some bikes especially the 06 and some 05 they are either off by missing a washer or wave washer or even diff distance on the lifter pins... set it to 2 1/4 and your good...

also is your bike new or used.. could be someone that had your bike already did the mod if you go it used!...

No, my bike was new bought from the dealer in January 2007 and the bike is for EU market E19.
Before clutch mod I have checked lifter pins and it was 3mm from the nuts.
I was confused after mod turning out 2 1/4 get the same 3mm.

Is it okay to take the oil, filter, and clutch plates out tonight, and leave it all apart for a few days till I have time to get it back together? WIll the plates get damaged from being out of oil for a few days I guess is my main question.

damn man, its a fairly large investment, don't be lazy, let that shit soak in new oil while its apart... might even get a little longer life out of them!

Hats off to JetSpeedz and Stocky for this mod. I have not been able to ride for a while due to a broken wrist. I did the clutch washer and oil ports in the meantime and rode for the first time on Sunday. Smooth as silk.

BTW, for those with a sticky-engaged clutch right after the mod, here is what I did. (I was not thrilled with the idea of starting the bike and staying on it while it lurches.) I put the bike up on the rear stand and started it in gear. I let it idle until the engine warmed up (until the radiator fan kicked on). Then, with the clutch lever pulled, I applied the rear brake. The rear wheel stopped and it was clear there were no disengagement issues at that point. I took it down off the stand and went for a ride. No lurching; no chatter, studder or judder; just a nice smooth clutch.

Thanks again.
