You might see a hot spot on the steel i had one as well but its fine very small and on only one steel. as long as you were able to punch it back you should be fine.. just make sure you oil pump gear was engaged... if it moved when you put it back on make sure you don't start the bike or else kiss the oil pump drive gear good bye

You did it correctly... for some bikes especially the 06 and some 05 they are either off by missing a washer or wave washer or even diff distance on the lifter pins... set it to 2 1/4 and your good...

also is your bike new or used.. could be someone that had your bike already did the mod if you go it used!...

hi ,first thnx for taking da time to do it .
i want to know what differnce will come in clutch performance after this mod ?
Performance wise is all subjective, i suppose if you like to launch the bike hard of the line its an upgrade and for the avg street rider it only improves the clutch performance if you do the mod and drill the holes for extra lubrication.

SPL,

Had a question about how you were adjusting the clutch screws on your clutch mod. When you turned them in, how far did you go? I can't figure out from the instructions if I've turned them in far enough? There is an initial point of contact? Stop there? Or keep going until it finally won't turn anymore at all? You'll even see the pressure plate move out a little? Will it get to a point where it won't turn anymore at all? I dont think I turned mine in enough? I stopped when I felt the screws first make contact and stopped turning easily. I could have kept turning them more but the pressure plate was moving out and it seemed this would cause excessive slippage.
Diesel its very easy. Tighten down the screw until you feel resistance, if your turning it in past the resistance point yes you will move the basket and you will cause the clutch to slip and not engage at all.

Turn it in till you feel resistance then back it out per instructions and you may see the same number of threads as before so no big deal... :cheers

Jer this mod will remove any clutch chatter you have. The 750 washer will fix the problem and the 3 extra holes in the basket help lubricate the fibers and plates. The 07-08 1k already has the holes in the basket... This mod wont hurt it will only help even if you don't have the chatter its only going to help make your fibers last longer.

Did you adjust the clutch push rod after wards? ill bet its not making contact so you need to adjust it. you don't need to pull the entire right side cover off just pull the center cap off and you can adjust it from there which is easiest
