a maget will pull the shift rod out as far as your cable play and adjustment that may be b/c there is too much play on the cable possibly at the perch causing you to do the opposite on the other end (cover) ... had this issue when replacing oem with pazzo a while ago but fixed it easily at the perch instead of cover.... just a thought otherwise i didnt have this problem then again i went hydraulic before...

you have to make sure to have the actuator on the pressure plate adjusted properly as well. you can have slack in the cable, but still have the clutch partially disengaged if the mechanism is not adjusted properly. check your manual for proper adjustment.
you assume we all have cable ;)

which one is the best adjusment 2 3/4 or 2 1/4 out of turn after clutch mod....??
i set mine 2 1/4 out of full.....is it a problem...???
should be fine either way... the amount of slip is prefrence.. if anything set it to 2 1/4 ride it and if you want less slip then set to 2 3/4 or more.. only takes a few mins, you dont need to take the entire cover off just take the center adjustment cap off to adjust the lifters

well an update on my bike.. got it out finally this past weekend and it was a no go, lots of problems with the clutch.... had issues with the shift rod adjustment so next week im going to give it another go... spent a few hours adjusting it to get it right with the hydraulic setup then with about 2 3/4 out on the lifter it would slipping under gas as soon as i got up to boost... also... Took the entire clutch assembly out and inspected everything and it was all kosher so it a combination right now of the adjust screw, push rod, and lever ratio on the mc... ill get some updates next week.... had me pretty pissed off and bummed but thats what happens when you do multiple mods without testing each one before moving on.. anyway ill get to it next week and post my findings...

sounds to me like you need to make some adjustments after you do this.. similar to what Kaz described as if he thought the cable slack was being taken up... i noticed this when i some fluid was leaking from the reservoir being forced back out ... anyhow give it an adjustment and see if it improves

This will get rid of the hesitation and judder if you launch at higher rpms from 1st and will basically improve the performance of the clutch...

On that note i got a chance to play with the bike again yesterday and i think i finally got all the adjustments right... my lifters are set to about 5 turns out and no more slipping... with the 2 1/4 it slipped bad anytime it came on boost and no diff on 2 3/4... im sure 5 turns is excessive but its working for now so when i get more time ill back into it more to see what the threshold is for high high hp apps

if you adjust it and did the clutch mod you shouldnt have any issues... you may have other problems from not doing the correct adjustment to begin with which might have caused your plates and fibers to go bad but from the pics you posted they looked fine

Sanga all you need is a 19mm to take the cap off the clutch cover and you can adjust the lifters easily... just crank the motor but tapping the starter to turn it to the next lifter or put it in gear and pull the clutch lever in and roll the bike back or forward... also you can take the entire cover off without draining the oil, just make sure its on the kickstand but you can take the cap off on a regular bike stand and it wont drain

TLDV8 - I didnt see any wear at all on the springs and im close to 300hp ! then again not too many miles on mine either since all the upgrades so ill keep an eye on this... maybe someone on here with more then a few k miles can chime in... thanks for that pic, dont know anyone who has taken the drive gear off the hub...

Rick you can bet a reunion is due lol... ill be just glad to get the hell out Tx right now .. stuck here for about 2 months before i go back for good

Stungbyme1000 - just back out the adjuster on the lever, it doesn't need to be turned in all the way.. in fact with the cable clutch most of the adjustment is made at the lever at least that how i have done it since i remember... if your clutch is engaging and disengaging then your good i take it so whats the problem?

Stungbyme1000 - you can back it out that will be fine but you will have to adjust it one way or the other to make sure it disengages when you pull the lever in..

Kaz that happened to me as well on my past bikes, it b/c you have very little to no slack at all on the cable.. that is why they recommend 10-15mm play... when you pull the bars all the way to one side where it puts tention on the cable and there is no tention it will just simply pull on the cable and you can hear a clicking sound every mm it pulls out as if your adjusting it yourself... perfectly normal, just leave some play in the cable

Rick Trackday and BBQ sounds like a good plan to me :) how lets see your up north, im in so cali and Palo is down south so it only seems fair to meet in the middle lol
