Not sure if im posting in the appropriate place if not i apologize. I just purchased a 03 750 with 42xx miles on it. The previous owner brought it in for oil changes all he could tell me was 10w40 he belives was the weight didn't know if it was synthetic or conventional. I know there are multiple write ups on rotella and amsoil in here my question is. Im not sure what i should put in it for oil all i cant find rotella (the blue bottle) in 10w40. Only 5w40 would that be acceptable in Minnesotas climate? If not please steer me in the right direction thank you! Bike also takes 4-5 attempts to start any feedback on that would be great as well

Stick with 10w-40, and use whatever brand you like, as long as it is motorcycle-specific oil. Do not use car oil in your bike.

No problem... As for your starting issue, check your charging system. Could be a bad battery, a bad reg/rec, or a bad stator.

As long as it is motorcycle specific oil in the correct weight, brand doesn't matter.

Agree with Anthony brand doesn't really matter. It's more just personal preference. I have always use Mobil 1 in my cars/bikes.
