yes but it won't run as good. It'll be too rich. my foul plugs. what alt. do you live at? I had mine dyno tuned and it's so smooth now. Not alot of gains though. The Graves pipes suck ass. My Dyno guy said I should be getting about 4 HP more. about 6 with a Ti-Force or an Ackro. If your about the same as me I'll download it and email it to you. then you can test it.
Why do you say the graves pipe suck? if you could em ail me the map that would be great, I am unsure of my alt. My e mail is [email protected] Thanks a lot
i recently had my 02 750 dynoed and mapped, it made 133hp and 59 lb ft of torque. the mods are Micron Serpent pipes /w Ti oval can, TRE, K&N, PC 3/ with a custom map. we compared pump gas which i made more power on with race gas. the race gas run with the same conditions and mods, only difference is the bike was mapped with race gas. the numbers were 121 hp and 58 lb ft torque. we actually lost power with the race gas. the dyno was a Dynojet.
Yes, 87 octane makes more HP...it has a lower detonation rate then higher octane fuels. If your bike is not pinging on 87 octane fuel, then thats what you need to be running in it...You can see all the mods on my bike in my auto sig and I run 87 in mine with no pinging...Thats what I had in the bike when I had it tuned....
It really depends on what type of race fuel. If you put higher octane race fuel in it won't do shit. It all depends on your compression level. Higher compresion needs higher octane

VP fuel

U4
Used in stock and modified 4-stroke applications, as well as stock 2-strokes. Makes up to 6% more power than pump gas and any basic nonoxygenated racing fuel. Passes fuel rules for AMA amateur racing and is also perfect for club level racing, CCS, WERA and AFM.

• Color: Clear
• Motor Octane: 92
• Specific Gravity: .718 at 60° F

MR1
Recommended for 4-stroke applications where octane requirements are fairly low, e.g. Supersport, Superbike, Formula Extreme and MX. Delivers up to 6% more power than pump gas and any basic nonoxygenated racing fuel. Clean burning - leaves intake and exhaust valves virtually free of deposits for maximum airflow and performance from start to finish. Can be mixed with MR8 to raise octane level for specific applications. AMA legal except Supercross and Outdoor Nationals.

• Color: Clear
• Oxygenated: Yes
• Motor Octane: 90
• Specific Gravity: .749 at 60° F

MR9
VP's newest fuel for 4-stroke applications that can tolerate lower octane values. Makes up to 2-3% more power than VP's MR1, meaning nothing on the market makes more power than MR9! AMA legal except Supercross and Outdoor Nationals.

• Color: Clear
• Oxygenated: Yes
• Motor Octane: 87
• Specific Gravity: .718 at 60° F

this is the funniest thing ive EVER heard in my life. 87 octane is crap. hell, most bikes cant even run 87, especially all litre bikes 03+.

i put race gas in my r1, 110 leaded. i gained 5 mph in the traps on the 1/4 mile.

87 octane is shit. dont run it EVER. if your bike is messing up on race gas(why would it be messing up on race gas? fouled plugs?) then stick with 93. but again, maybe your bike just sucks or something. losing 11hp with racegas? gimme a break. next time i go to the track, ill buy some and take it home with me. ill dyno and post results.

Funny, I have a 01 and a 04 Gixxer 1000 both are modded and my 04 has CAMS. I have always ran 87 octane in it and NEVER had a Problem....Your wasting your money on race gas unless your actually racing....funny when people talk about something that they know nothing about....
