Great research, nice one!

Apologies if I'm being dumb :) but I was wondering if you could give your opinion of the following fitment into a 2008 GSXR 600 K8:

K4 1000 fr wheel
06-07 310mm rotors
std spacers, axle etc

Cheers
The 06-07 GSXR rotors wont fit. The only rotors that will work are 01-03 600, 00-03 750, 01-02 1000, and 99-07 Busa all with 5mm spacers. The 03-04 1000, 04-05 600/750 rotors will work ONLY if you use 03-04 1000 or 04-05 600/750 calipers.

The spacers that you need are available from your local Honda dealer. They come stock on 06-07 CBR1000RR's

excellent post frankie, nice work!

:cheers

Thanks for your reply....

Is the reason discs won't fit due to the change from 5 to 6 bolts? I got the impression the first year of 310mm discs had 5 bolts?

Cheers

LOL, I picked that up from somewhere and thought maybe (well was hoping!) that was the only difference. Suzuki have changed direction recently on disc sizes eh? Think I'm going to try and source 06 wheels on, but like I think you mention earlier in the thread the earlier wheels do have a good look.

cheers for you help and once again great post for future resource

Alex

New info added! 03-07 SV1000(S) rotors will work on the 01-04 front wheel and would be an upgrade for 03-04 owners (10mm larger). They will also work on 05-08 forks/calipers with an 01-04 front wheel without modifications.

Rotors from a 99-07 busa, 01-02 1000, and 00-03 750 should all work on your bike without a hitch. Maybe even some others but I know those will work for sure.

I definitely appreciate the help. This makes it a lot easier as I have seen the 01-02 1000 rotors everywhere. Where did you get your info from? Just curious because I don't know anywhere to find good, useful specs on my bike...including the service manual. Thanks again for the tip Figs.

frankie quik question.I put 04 1000 forks on my 01 1000.bolts up fine.used the axle from the 04(female end like yrs,01 was a male end)01 wheel and rotors(have spacers for the calipars).when tightening up the axle it doesnt sit flush with the fork.its inboard maybe 1/4''.is this correct?i see npo spacers for my 01 or an 04 wheel(besides the internal spacers between the bearings.)i would ned to squeeze the forks together to get the bolt sid of the axle flush with the fork lower.i understand th left axle nut is also that sides spacer.is there a spacer for the right side(sitting on bike)?thanks for any help.

The 03-04 1000 uses 2 spacers in the wheel. Do you have both of them? You should have 2 spacers, the axle, and the axle "nut". I put nut in quotes cuz its just a round threaded thingy lol I dont know how it supposed to be cuz Ive never worked on one. Maybe it should sit in a lil but it doesnt seem like thats right. I guess you could look at pics and see.
