History
Bought it around 1998 from a bloke who I don't think cleaned it once in it's life. Stripped it to basically the motor in the frame, cleaned it, overhauled the suspension, degreed the cams, overhauled the carbs, polished all the fairings, recoated the wheels white, treated them to new Dunlop D204 tyres and put it all back together. What a transformation. A massive change from my older 83 CB1100FD. This thing was a scalpel tied to a rocket. I now knew what all the hype was about.
In October 1999, rode it 2600km to Phillip Island to see Mick Doohan retire and then back home. I suppose living with it like that for 2 weeks really made me a lifelong Suzuki fan.
I still have the old girl and she's pretty near mint with a set of resprayed fairings on her and a full NOS set of clothes including tank waiting in storage for the day I retire her to show pony only duty.
Until then, she's my fair weather ride although it's nearly time for the deglaze, a bit of port work and new cams to give the motor some new life.
This is one bike I will never sell.
