FTune GSXR Tune short review
I was going back and forth with doing a power commander or a tune or a combo of both. So I just came to the conclusion do I need the headache of tuning my bike or letting someone tune it? After reading about different ECU tuning options I went with Flashtune because well they make and sell the software-hardware to allow people from home or shops to tune bikes ECU Directly. They where not the cheapest Dano's prices are a bit less than half and he has a good rep in the GSXR community. So Service it was ok not the best, not the worst not a big deal but nothing to rave about. The tune ok this is where things get better. No real noticeable gain in power at first but the bike runs smoother and the engine seems to be a bit quieter (not the exhaust the engine). I went with the tune over the power commander because of The seconder throttle valves are now able to be opened wide, and to get rid of the 2 to 5 gear timing being pulled (that I feel for sure just a bit more TQ and pull in 2nd out of corners), and to get the A/F richer for my simple bolt-ons Exhaust / air filter ( will be confirming that a/f when I can set up my wideband 02 to datalog my rides). I was hoping the bike would run cooler when riding I'm seeing 190s riding on hot days in FL. I'm seeing 181-189 now which is a slight improvement that I'm happy with and that is the coolant range that flash tune likes to see on our bikes (during my conversations with them). I did have them turn my fans on at 205 instead of the stock I think it was like 220ish. That's a huge help because I have not seen higher than 208 now even on 96F days. As far as power my bike would lose power over 15K so I would shift just past 15K when moving fast. Now I have power to redline that is very noticeable in the few gears I did redline I would be at least 5 to 6 mph faster. I'm very happy with this generic map flash on my bike! I run 93oct but my flash is for 91+ just data point for reference.
