Whats the sensor or switch mounted to the steering damper

Still getting familiar with my 07 gsxr600 track bike. There is a sensor or switch mounted on the front of the steering damper with two wire plug. I think it might be the IAT sensor as there is none on the airbox but I thought I'd better check on the forum.
thanks.

Post a pic. I sincerely hope it's not the IAT

Photo attached. Looking at it again it looks like some sort of control mechanism on the damper but I'm not familiar enough with it to check. Its wiring goes straight into the front subframe loom (doesn't look aftermarket). Two wires only. Black with blue stripe, and black with orange stripe. Regards

I have no idea what that is. When searching the PDF manual, no wires are ever black with orange identifier, but black with blue comes up a couple times. One option is the Engine Coolant Sensor, the Crank Position Sensor, or a junction connector. Can you follow the wires to see where they originate?

Easiest thing to do is disconnect it, start it, and see if it throws a code. If it doesn't throw a code, maybe take it for a rip? It wouldn't happen to be a European bike, would it?

To pull the code, put it in dealer mode FIRST, and then start/ride it.
