Evening all. I put the swing-arm back into my K5 750 this afternoon, but if I torque the pivot to the spec in the factory manual (15Nm on the shaft, 100Nm on the nut, 90Nm on the lock nut), it seems to bind and the swing-arm doesn't move freely. I'm 100% sure all the spacers and washers and dust-seals are correctly ordered. Any tips from experience, here? Many thanks.
Never mind, I took everything apart, had a think and figured it out. When it was powder-coated, they masked off all the bearing surfaces and threaded holes. But they didn't mask off the faces on either side of the section through which the pivot threads. So there was ~1.5mm of extra material there compared to stock. I filed that off, reassembled everything and it's all good.
