Ok so i got another flat, fine I brought a new tyre.
Right MOT due, Passes with out any problems apart from a new number plate!

I think I should have a good ride out! then my bloody chain snapped about 5 miles from home

Not a happy chappy! You know what, only 1 biker stopped to see if I was alright!

Oh well, thats my bitch done and now I feel better!

No the chain was only about 1000 miles old but it was the connecting link that gave way.
I used one of those clip links! not any more. i got one that you have to clamp on. Just need to find some where or the tool to do it!

Re: One P*S*ed Person!

All you need is 1 small metal mallett and 1 ball hammer and a vice.
Fit the chain on, clip the rivit link on and angle the vice and maybe a small piece of metal over the chain so it presses on the link plate onto the two pins.
Keep squishing it down untill you see the two pin heads showing their grove sticking out of the rivit plate.
Take the vice off, place the mallet hammer so that back of the chain has something to press against, and gently tap the two pins so the top flays out over the plate, holding it in place.

Your chain will be rivetted in place then

Alternativly, you can buy a decent chain breaker and riviter rom Motrax etc for 50-60 starting price. Riviters on thier own are cheaper.

But I did my chain and sprockets using a junior hacksaw and this method, took ages but has lasted me 2 years so far safley. Good luck
