How much do you wanna spend?
Do you need a garage for the bikes?
Does it need to be in the center of the city?

Re: GOing to Amsterdam, need hotel info?

the whole place is choc full of hotels.

with a price range to suit most - look on the net. Central Amsterdamm is pretty walkable from wherever you stay.

I stayed in leidesplein last time at a fairly reasonably priced hotel - which was functional and hygenic but not outstanding. Its a good area to stay in because its right on top of tons of bars and restuarants. If I remember rightly its about a 20 minute walk from the Red light district.

if you want enclosed parking for a few days it can be fucking expensive. (£60 for my car for three days ) That placed is not designed to cater for vehicles.

Stay away from the mainline station, it's a muggers paradise.

I worked in amsterdam for a couple of months, and it's only as dangerous as you make it yourself... Not the place to be if you wanna ride though, on the other hand like mentionned above, the Red light district and coffee shops could be worth a visit
