Re: Calling all bikers in the Montreal area

I am a new arrival here.
Just getting to grips with the terrible roads...think a supermoto should be just about right.
Found a nice section of tarmac on the 347 but it's a bit short, any others?
I think I found a track day though at Shannonville on the 5th.

Late answer but...

You have 2 main choices to find nice roads in the Montreal area :
1- Parc de la Mauricie : 1.5 hours from Montreal, it's a National Park and you have 70km of nicely paved road. Entrance is around $5. Try to avoid weekends as it becomes crowded. Speed limit is 70 but...
2- Cross the border to Vermont or upstate NY. It's 60 minutes from Montreal and well worth it.

Within 45 minutes of Montreal, there's absolutely nothing interesting...or very little. You can find 3-4 km stretches here and there but that's it.

And BTW, you can post in english on www.m4e.com People usually understand and answer.

Re: Calling all bikers in the Montreal area

In Vermont you have to keep your speed down alittle due to the high State Trooper presence, otherwise they are GREAT roads!

Routes 327 and 329 are very nice stretches of road that (if there is no or little cage traffic) you can ride at a very spirited pace.

I'm near Mtl!
You can post in english on m4e (as long as you can read french! )

Best road: 347!!!! (between Notre-dame-de-la-merci & St-come) only 45-60min from Mtl!
Parc de la mauricie!
There's a good bunch of track day organised at Mecaglisse!
