Ontario/Canada Insurance Rates

Was just wondering what everyone from ontario, or maybe even all of canada's, insurance rates were, so I/we can all compare prices.
Please include, Company, age, experience(?), province, bike, record (tickets? accidents?), coverage, price.

So far, my best results were through State Farm.

23, Male, M2 for 1 year now, Ontario, GSX-R 600, 0 Tickets, 0 Accidents, Liability coverage only.
$184/month x 12 = $2205

I was browsing through the entire forum, and the American rates are so insanely low! I'm assuming that its because the motorcyclist population there is much more dramatic than in ontario or even canada.

Re: Ontario/Canada Insurance Rates

Wow !! Just got my renewal from Primmum, and it went up $110 from last year, no tickets, no claims.......... I called Aviva and got a quote from them for $480/yr including fire/theft........ I couldn't get fire/theft at Primmum without having an approved alarm installed professionally....... Guess I'm cancelling Primmum and going to Aviva........ Cheers ! Les

Re: Ontario/Canada Insurance Rates

Update..... just got a call from Aviva, along with an apology............ turns out they checked out my bike specs, and have no intentions of insuring my bike, at any cost........... bike insurance in Ontario is a Joke ! You HAVE to have it , but hardly anyone will insure it......... the ones that will write you a policy can charge whatever they want , and raise it for no reason......... guess I'm staying with Primmum after all........ Regards, Les

Re: Ontario/Canada Insurance Rates

Sorry Cheekeebandito PC has insured me for the last 3 yrs, 2 with my R1 and now my gixxer 1K, might have told them that it was 998 cc.

I have my car the wifey's van and my gixxer 1K plus our house for $183/month.

Call them back, but you might need to insure a car with them as well.

Dave.

P.S. does anyone have a slip-on for a gixxer 1K 05/06 for sale?

Re: Ontario/Canada Insurance Rates

Thanks Dave, I may give them a call, but I'm not going to get my hopes up........ I did a few online quotes yesterday, and best I could get for liability only was $1850....... I guess $810 is a pretty good deal these days......... Cheers ! Les

Re: Ontario/Canada Insurance Rates

class 6 motorcycle license for 17 years, no tickets or accidents... pl& pd is like 230 a year, full coverage on the other hand for the 05 gsxr 1000 costs me about 1400 a year with a 1000 dollar deductible, payable in either one payment, or over a 3 month period If I remember correctly(June July August)...no monthly payments are available in alberta stretched out over the whole year. And no monthly payments at all for PL&Pd only. Most insurance companies wont even look at the 1000 cc supersports out here.
