Re: A ride through Los Angeles Skid Row

I love LA.....Been here for 30 years by way of Sweden. Traffic does suck but on a motorcycle its not bad at all. More importantly is the weather allowing for 300 + days a year of riding. and all the great mountains and canyons.

Plenty of white people here, not that it matters to me one way or another.

I've been to NYC a few times, LOVE the city but can imagine it must be hard to ride through the city.

If you guys are interested feel free to follow me on youtube. I do "ride through" videos of the LA area. Not a pro rider by any standards....More like a spirited rider...hehehe

I'm actually in Toronto. We don't have mountains here but wish the weather could be warmer.

Surprised you're recent Swedish immigrant. Saw your name, but thought you were descendants of immigrants. Really curious why you made the switch.

Cheers

Looks cool. I mean the weather, climate, so bright and sunny. A place where I wouldn't have depression anymore!

Re: A ride through Los Angeles Skid Row

LA and the mountains around it definitely seem like paradise for a motorcycle rider. Not only do you have the weather but you guys also have the roads and the scenery. I lived there briefly as a child with my mom who taught elementary in Compton. I don't remember much about it though and I've been told by friends that I need to go back now that I'm grown.

The things that turn me off about LA though are the cost of living and California emissions rules. Hell...I'm wondering if my bike would even be legal there! And I've heard they don't let you keep a pistol like they do here in Florida.

Maybe once I'm filthy rich I'll buy an extra house there so I can cruise those mountain highways. For now I'll just continue living vicariously through the car and biker boys I see on youtube.

I'd rather ride and control an Analog bike than ride and be controlled by a Digital one.

Cost of living is pretty outrageous but it can be found with reasonable prices if you look.......Its the price you pay for the life and work you can get here. i work in the movie industry so there is only a few places I could live.

Emissions rule are prettys trict, but you only need to take the bike and have it checked once....Only when you buy a bike you take it to DMW, then after that mod away to your hearts content. I have never had any issues with the police after being pulled over....They know, but they got murderers to catch, no time for a full exhaust traffic ticket.

I dont have any guns but plenty of friends that do.
