Land Speed Racing in Bolivia

As Bonneville has gone to shit, some of the heavy hitters are currently on the salt in Bolivia for an FIM sanctioned meet.
The Ack Attack streamliner is geared for 420mph right now, with options for more later.
Ralph Hudson and Al Lamb are there with their 1000cc turbo bikes. Yesterday, there were some shakedown passes and repairs, today they are ready to go for it

That's awesome. And crazy to see how bad Bonneville got.

I didn't know that was the problem with Bonneville.

Interesting. At least they found somewhere else that's suitable for these pursuits. I wonder how much the altitude affects it, if it's that different from Bonneville.

Seriously, 12500 ft? N/A bikes will be useless at that altitude. Just like fighter planes in WWII, I guess it's all about boost in Bolivia.

less air density though, its a trade off and I assume they know the engine will perform just fine at that altitude.
