Question staying fresh in summer when riding to work!!

Runny make up and sweaty clothes are the last thing I want when I get to work after riding in the summer, but my awesome bike is my main transportation, or at least the only one I enjoy, lol. Any tips from my fellow ladies on how to stay lookin good after a ride in the GA heat?
Thanks
Candy

Since no one has chimed in I will say I wouldn't ride to work unless you have a change of clothes with you or at work. The heat and humidity are not good on your makeup or hair.

I stopped wearing makeup when riding because it ended up inside the helmet. My hair is always messed up in the Texas heat and humidity. I would rather chill in the A/C on hot days and be able to relax on the way home from a long day at work. I'm sure if you are determined to ride to/from work, you can make it work but sometimes a car is better.

There is no way the 7-fiddy is stayin home so i just take a small makeup bag for touch ups and wear some textile or mesh gear. I always wear a tank under a button up so i just slip the button down into my backpack and throw it back on when i get to work. Summers are rough but totally worth the wind down or up after work

Wear less makeup, use the water proof run proof kind or take it with you and put it on after you get to your destination.

My sister works for an large engineering firm and rides her back pretty much anytime its above 50. She uses that mineral based makeup. She says it doesn't really sweat off on her ride to work, but she still has to touch it up. I'd ask her what she does to try and stay cool, but she's in Canada for something atm, but knowing her she'd probably just say she goes faster.

I'm lucky my commute to work is less than five minutes, but I still take advantage of it on my 750!

Re: staying fresh in summer when riding to work!!

I've been riding passenger for a while and these couple things work for me.

For long hair, it's easy if you know how to do really great up dos, quick french braids, or the ponytail to the side. Keep an elastic in your jacket pocket and you'll be good to go.

As for makeup, I don't wear heavy makeup. Liquid eye liner doesn't run for me, blush and eyebrow shadow always stay best for me then, like some of them have already said, when you get to your destination, add on some mascara and touch it up, and you're good to go. =)

Best of luck!!

Re: staying fresh in summer when riding to work!!

My wife has long hair and wears about 10 of those scrunchy hair things in a row to keep her hair from getting tangled. They also make long leather lace up pony tail holders, see harley chicks wearing them all the time.

just a couple suggestions (if you've got long hair)

Re: staying fresh in summer when riding to work!!

I always bring my backpack to work and tuck my hair in my helmet. I also keep a pair of heels in my desk at work so I don't have to carry shoes. I wear light makeup, but I bring the essentials in my backpack-waterproof liquid eyeliner is great . I keep small things like hairspray, deodorant and the like in my desk at work-the less you have to carry, the better. FYI: if you neatly roll your clothes in your backpack, they don't wrinkle as much, but you can use downy wrinkle release, it works fantastic.
