Stripped drain plug

I did a really stupid thing. I managed to strip the drain plug on my 06 GSXR 1000. Some of the treads were on the bolt when I took it out and it doesn't stop when you tighten it all the way. Is a Heli coil the best way to replace the threads. Are there any other ways to fix it? Any helpful ideas would be great..

Re: Stripped drain plug

Buy a new drain pan. Don't take chances with a part that contains the lifeblood of your motor.

Re: Stripped drain plug

AND- search on here for it too.

Good luck with that- I'm sure it's not fun when that happens.
