Want to re-enabe my speedometer

The guy I bought my bike from would go to the track, and somehow he disabled the speedometer for it. I use it for street, and want to enable it. I remember him pointing at the sprocket cover area. What would he have done to disable it?

He either disconnected the speed sensor or remove the speed rotor. You bought a bike knowing he did this? So you have no idea the actual mileage?

No I know the real mileage. And the condition matches what he says. I'm just trying to get the speedo working for the street again.

If he disconnected the speedo, how do you know the actual mileage?

I think he means the gauge cluster works, but the speed sensor was disconnected so it didnt register speed. Unless youre saying the odo works from this sensor as well.

Re: Want to re-enabe my speedometer

It has the speed sensor screwed into the sprocket cover. And I've taken the cover off, and it has the speed rotor too. I don't know what else people do to disable it.

Re: Want to re-enabe my speedometer

Is the sensor unplugged at the connector? Amd again, if the speedo reads 0, the mileage is not being tracked, so you have no idea how many miles it has.
