Re: ANYONE curious about warranty coverage

The weld will void the warranty if you have to send the part back to Suzuki but any GOOD service manager will attempt to get it covered for you anyways to get the repeat business and build customer relations.

No way. Unless you have ten miles on your bike and paint peels off would someone honor a warranty. A front end getting sandblasted whether a car, plane, or bike is a part of life.

Re: ANYONE curious about warranty coverage

Did you actually weld the crack or put JB weld on the crack ???
If the latter remove the JB and tell the dealer to fix it undr wty or you will contact your attorney

Re: ANYONE curious about warranty coverage

So I got into a wreck with my bike about a month after riding off of the showroom floor. Got everything fixed and back on the road, and a few months later I'm having issues with the starter button. Sometime it fires up, sometime it will take a sec for it to work! The accident did not cause any noticable damage to or around the starter button but the bar end did take some beating

Now, if I bring it in to take care of this, will I be able to claim it as a warranty issue? I didnt purchase the extended warranty but it is still in the time frame of the manu. warranty. Just thought I'd bring it up on here and see what response's I get. Any and all are welcome! Thanks.....

Re: ANYONE curious about warranty coverage

I have an 06 750. I'm currently replacing the motor in it right now. I blew the 3rd cylinder. My original motor had almost 50,000 miles on it. So do they last? U bet they do. The only reason I have to pay for the motor is because I didn't keep up with my paper work showing that I had my valves adjusted. As long as u keep up with the paper work the warranty is worth it I say. Had I done so it would have saved me 3,000.

Re: ANYONE curious about warranty coverage

I don't see y u shouldn't. The marks on the bar ends can come from anything. If nothing else replace your bar ends then take it in. Bar ends are what $10.00 aftermarket? The worst they can do is say no they aren't gonna cover it.

I work at a Ford dealer here in Ontario Canada and listen to this complaint time and time again. I actually had one customer tell me that his paint was chipping off. I clearly saw the stone marks and told him that it wasn't covered. He then proceeded to mention that the car was never on any roads with stones.

Unbelievable.

Re: ANYONE curious about warranty coverage

in the warranty policy i have it says under 3-F
" to any Motorcycle or ATV which has not had the mandatory service checks carried out at the times recommended by the manufacturer ( refer to the appropriate service or owners manual ) in addition any work or adjustment carried out by anyone other than an AUTHORIZED SUZUKI DEALER resulting in damage to the motorcycle or ATV will not be cover by this warranty."

so my question is really about doing things like oil and plugs.. the things that i can do myself... if i choose to do oil and filter changes dose this warranty mean that i dont really have a leg to stand on if there was any issue that had something to do with routine maintenance just because i dont want to pay for an AUTHORIZED SUZUKI DEALER to to a half assed job.

Re: ANYONE curious about warranty coverage

Key phrase there is "resulting in damage". The burdon of proof is on them that anything that was done to the bike caused the damage that is being warrantied.

Re: ANYONE curious about warranty coverage

Not unless by doing your own service they prove that any part being warrantied was damaged by you, or by the lack of a suzuki technician doing the service.

Re: ANYONE curious about warranty coverage

Maybe one of you guys can answer this.. Bike was bought in Sept 09. My rectifier went out within the first day!. Got it fixed thru warranty, of course, and suzuki gave me an extra year warranty. So in the end Sept of '11 is the end of the warranty. Now for the question.. Do I have to buy the extended warranty (thru oneida.com) before Sept '11 or was I suppose to buy it before Sept '10(the original warranty expiration date)??

Re: ANYONE curious about warranty coverage

Anyone have the number or any contact info to Suzuki Corporate OR the people in the higher positions to over look a situation and problem im having with the Suzuki dealership that i bought my bike from January 2011. They are giving me run around answers and even Bazzaz said they are lost and dont sound like they know what they are talking about.

I need to contact some bosses for this cuz my next step is going to be ugly!
