Question Rumors of GSXR750 discontinued?

I just heard from a non-creditable source today that Suzuki was no longer going to produce the 750. Has anyone else heard of this? Came up with nothing so far on a search.

That would be dumb move on there part. On the contrary I heard that the other Japanese manufactures were going to introduce a 750 within next two years. We will see.

That's what I was thinking but then again look at GM getting rid of z28's and ta's, now they have a rearwheel drive grand prix(some call it a gto) in their place.

Hahaha. GTO, pfft. 2007-08 Camaro. Woot.

Anyways, this rumor pops up every year. And every year it turns out to be false. Why give away 100% of the market share?

I doubt they will get rid of it for years to come, the 750 has been their #1 seller for years

There are better odds of me getting Jessica Simpson than Suzuki dropping the 750.The chance of me getting Jessica Simposon is 0.

Re: Rumors of GSXR750 discontinued?

Not gonna happen, as has been said,

First, the 06 is a brand new model. suzuki wont tool up for one year only!

second, the 750 is as big a seller if not bigger in many of Suzuki's markets. Why would they do away with a big seller?

Probably comes from someone that WISHES suzuki would do away with it as it takes sales from a lot of other bikes, not necessarily Suzuki!

I have heard the opposite...that other manufacturers would bring back theirs before Zook gets rid of theirs.

exactly. It wouldn't be a good financial decision to get rid of your best seller.

btw, even though there is no race class, it is still the best seller....it just proves the worth of these bikes

Hmmm, thats a good point, Zuk could add a little bit of stroke to the 750 and be right up there with the 800s.

Actually, the GTO was a popular muscle car of the 60's and 70's... I don't know what that thing they call a GTO today is.

Re: Rumors of GSXR750 discontinued?

I heard this rumor 5 years ago when they were refining the 1000 and stopped using the 750 in the AMA's. But the bike is still going strong and has been redesigned as well as it is their best selling street bike. For a daily driver I'd take the 750 over the 6 or 1K anyday of the week.
