site problem?

As of about a week, when I get on the site, it always jumps down to the bottom of the page. Even when opening up a subforum. Even after clicking new thread to start this thread, it threw me to the bottom of the page and I had to scroll back up. It does this on my work computer and home computer. ?

windows 7, chrome.

and it's not all the time. i did notice it a couple times today. i hit "newest reply" or whatever, and it took me to the middle of the thread.

like i said though... not a huge deal. i can live it with having a hiccup once a month or so.

try it with IE and see if it still does it. Also if you have firefox installed try it with that.

Depending on what you're clicking, it will take you to the newest post that you haven't already seen. I.e. if you view a thread and it's on post 10, and you leave and come back the next day and click on that link, it very well may take you to post 11.

Beyond that, which is normal, the forum is performing fine.

It takes me to the VERY bottom of the page. Not the last post I looked at or even the last post of the thread...

Re: site problem?

Happens to me all the time. Nothing consistent. This site (only) seems to have a mind of it's own with random page-ups & downs. Sometimes, it goes to bottom, I scroll back up to where I was TRYing to read and it scrolls down again. Only on GDC

I'm win7 pro X64 running firefox (come to think of it, it hasn't done it in a while.. I recently updated firefox 10.0.2)

Re: site problem?

You have to go in to USER CP & adjust the settings. There is a default in there, if it detects cookies from any gay porn sites, it starts off at the bottom of the page. I have never experienced this myself, but Steven & Jetblast told me about it.

Re: site problem?

Mine has done some random jumping around as well when I load a page or click the view first unread link. I use win 7 and IE at work and chrome at home.

Lately when I search for my posts it hasn't been showing some of my recent posts. I use this to look at threads I have posted in to see if someone else has also responded.

I noticed that also. It seems like it takes overnight to update your recent posts. It used to happen in minutes.
