I use a set of Vibes ear plugs, they are $20-$25. Basically they block out the high frequency high amplitude sound from things like wind noise, but allow you to still hear conversations, and most importantly induction noise. I also notice that I am much more aware of traffic around me with these than with the foam plugs, but any plug is better than none. Cars have loads of sound deadening, yet we can still hear traffic. Put a little of that deadening in your helmet and you will be able to ride longer and more safely.
