Re: gsxr m4 pipe volume

Cheapest exhaust option is usually to get a used OEM muffler. Even if it's got some rash on it, who cares? You only need it to pass inspection, then swap back. Not sure what the prices are down there, but in the US your can get a used factory can for $20-$50 if you don't care what it look like.

If it's a full system you have to swap, OEM is probably still cheapest. You can get a used full factory exhaust here for under $150USD pretty easily.

For a full system you'd definitely need to get the one specifically for your bike.

One other option you might consider, depending on which model of M4 you have, would be to get one of the silencer inserts/baffles from M4. They don't reduce the noise by a huge amount, but it might be enough to get you through inspection. And they're not outrageously expensive.

Re: gsxr m4 pipe volume

do you still have the exhaust valve section in your bike? if so then it is just the half system.

If that is that case then it is as simple as finding a stock exhaust from a 2009-2016 model (usually go for $50 or less in aus) and bolting that on. 5-10mins done.

K9-L1 have separate header and cat but on later models header and cat are welded together. So OP needs K9-L1 cat+stock cans if the bike doesn't have a full M4 system.

ah yes, you are correct. i forgot about that.
Fingers crossed he just has the half system (after SETvalve) as i most common on that model. easy to switch out to the stock system...
