Pulled off the tank cover on the left side only to discover a dent. It’s on the corner of the tank, but it looks like a fairly easy fix. Would you guys recommend removing the gas cap and just pushing it out or removing the entire tank and fix it?

Not sure what your skill level is, how fussy you are, the overall codition of the bike, or budget but...

I would not try to bang it out from the inside! If you start trying to do that the next thing you know you’ll be painting the whole tank. Its not worth the risk. Then when its all done the paint wont match either.

At most if you can contain the bodywork to behind the tank cover- then i would take it off and fill it from the outside and paint it. Don't do anything that would cause you to have to paint the whole tank.

Talk is Cheap

Re: Tank Dent

Unless you're a perfectionist and looking to spend a lot of money, just get a new cover and be done with it.
The paint doesn't look cracked so the tank should not rust and you won't miss the 100ml in lost fuel capacity...

Just my 2 cents
