Anyone familiar with Escort shotguns??

I was looking at this Turkey-Coyote Tactical 12 gauge, thought it looked like it would be a lot of fun. List is $659. Looks like all it would need is an extended mag tube. I'm looking to add about 2" to my unit length.

Actually that was the other one on my short list. I could get a new 930 SPX with a pistol grip for $699. I got a price on the Escort Turkey/coyote today for $589, or $489 for the home defense model, which is pretty much the same with an 18" non-lined barrel, a muzzle brake, & all black.

Yeah, that's a better price. Quite a few Turkish-produced guns have come on the market the past few years and I've mostly heard good things about them, supposedly good bang for the buck.

In the Sandbox I got to shoot Turkish license-copied MP5s and G3s and while they weren't quite as nicely made as the German originals, they were solid and worked.

In the Danish Army we have MG3 machine guns (basically a 7.62 version of the Nazi MG42) but about 8-10 years ago Rheinmetall, the original manufacturer, stopped producing spare parts. Luckily the Turkish build them on license too so we got parts from them instead. That turned out to be quite a problem, their production tolerances just weren't good enough so the guns would jam up all the time

However - the MG3 shoots full-auto only at 1200-1500 rounds/minute (depending on version). That's a bit more finicky than a semi-auto shotgun...

Can you check one of the Escorts out in person before buying?

Re: Anyone familiar with Escort shotguns??

I'm hoping to find one in the next few weeks to look at. So far I haven't found a stocking dealer. The brand is still pretty unknown except for on the net.

I would love to play with some of the weapons that you have trained with. One of the very few regrets of things I haven't done is doing time in the service. I enlisted in the Navy after college & was promised flight school & starting out as a Chief Petty Officer. I got down to the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Willow Grove for my physical & I found out something I never knew. You can't have allergies & it hadn't been brought up by anyone before that time! I'm allergic to dust, mold, pollens, etc. The 2 docs thought I was joking when I told them all the shit I have allergies to. That was the end of my military career.

That sucks

Full auto is overrated - especially if you have to pay the ammo yourself I figured I already paid it through taxes so there

Yeah, take the MG3 - 20-25 rounds of 7.62x51 per second Belts are 50 rounds and you can connect as many of them as you want. You should really change the barrel after 150 fast rounds, though. It gets fucking hot. (Note: It's fine after it cools down - unless you don't change it in time and it starts deforming...)

There is no selector switch on it either, although with practice you can get down to 2-3 round bursts - machine gun noobs have a hard time getting below 5 rounds/burst with that...

Of course you can just skip every other round in the belt to fire single shots but what's the point of having a machine gun, then?
