750 front master

Is there a way to identify the front master cylinder by the markings on the casting? I'm trying to rebuild mine and keep getting the wrong kit. The spring in the kit is too long and the diameter of the plunger is too big. The shop has ordered kits from a couple different vendors with the same results.
I had thought of changing it out so I did some looking in the forums, I thought I had seen in 1 of the interchange posts info about swapping masters but can't find it.

Any suggestion's? Trying to do this economically, so fancy brembo's etc, are not gonna happen.

I am not aware of a good way to cross reference a master cylinder other than getting one off a similar year bike. It is possible someone changed it from the OEM unit at some point if the kits aren't working. You could try going the measure everything route and see if you can find a match. A quick search of the fiche yielded this list of compatible parts with the OEM master:

Just an update, bought a set of front controls with the master and reservoir online. It was supposed to be the same but I could never get a firm lever and the calipers wouldn't bleed no matter what.
Turns out the casting #'s on the master housing is the ratio of said master. Also turns out the new unit I bought was only 12.5mm bore not 14 like the one on the bike. After a week or 2 of cursing and trying different things, I swapped the original spring for the spring in the new one. Brake calipers bled the way they should in about 30 seconds and the lever has good feel to it. No leaks, no other issues, back on the road.
