Vent for overflow?

I've seen on some CustomFighters, the coolant overflow bottle attached to the radiator. They typically use an aluminium bottle. Does it have to be vented as the oem, see item 36.

Re: Vent for overflow?

yes it must be vented or it will pressurize when the rad dumps excess fluid when the coolant heats up. works the same as a car.

Re: Vent for overflow?

And has to be able to siphon coolant back into the radiator as it cools, or you will get air into the system.
