Head flow

Thought this might peak someoneís interest. Iíve been running avgas through my gixxer for a few months now, which has a nice blue dye to it. This dye stains the inside of the intake runners, so you can see where and how itís flowing in the head. Itís a little hard to see in this picture, but you can see the blue staining all the way down to the valve runners, where it seems the airflow isnít contacting the back sides of the valves, only the front sides, effectively rendering half of the intake valves useless. Iíve read about this issue on Oiler heads a while back, but itís interesting actually seeing it. This is why monster-sized valves are a must for power, or crazy epoxied heads with raised floors. This is a DOT head on a 750 in this pic
