I am taking my wheels off to have new tires fitted, i have no idea if the bearings have ever been changed, I am thinking for the minor expense, i should just replace the bearings. What are your thoughts? thank you in advance for your help.

if theres no lateral play in the wheels, then there's no need to. I think the bearings are sealed units, otherwise Id say you could clean and repack them with fresh grease

wise move, nothing worse than a collapsed bearing 200 miles from home.

If you can afford it, it won't hurt anything to just go ahead and do it. I would if it was me.

Yep, change them MG, will be good for years afterwards. Use a bit of heat around the area and the bearings come out and go in easily enough. As you say, they're pretty cheap to buy

Change them. For what they cost it's worth it, and you know they're good.
