a source for mirrors with the turn-signals integrated into them? ...y'know, it would be easy... lens on the back of the mirror housing and the wires run down the stalk into the fairing... anyone? Am I dreaming?
I don't know of any manufacturers that actually make these items.
Except Honda blackbird 1100's have them as standard.
Go look at one of them and see if they will fit.
These are by Muth the people that put them in the glass part itself like the Ford trucks. The link is for stickons but they make them for bikes (but not our old stuff) but a glass shop might be able to shape them to fit if you can find ones that are close. http://www.muthco.com/products/kits/200-0056.htm

You could also break out the mirror glass install your signal then have a glass shop cut and install some of the glare resistant (blue tinted) glass in there.

I'm planning on doing this during the current rebuild. I want to get the in-mirror signal as well as the LED display on the front of the mirror housing.
I've been looking at car assemblies that may be small enough to work on the bike. Check out the new Mercedes SL for an example.
Otherwise, if you want the front LED's, you'll have to put something on the exterior of the mirror housing or customize the housings with flush mounted LED's or a clear lens with LED's underneath (the route I'm looking at).
Went to the NEC motorcycle show in Novenber in England and the new Aprillia's and BMW seem to have those as standard. Maybe get tin tough with them, or bodge some up of your own??
