Oil window still full after draining oil

halppp i'm confused! After letting the oil drain until it stopped dripping (~2.1L drained out) I plugged the oil bolt back in and check the window and it was still full (way above F line)...is it possible the dude i bought it from had wayy too much oil or...?

P.S. I've changed oil on motorcycles plenty but this is my first time doing it on my "new" k7 600. I know to check the oil when the bike is standing straight up, off its kickstand. I used conv 10w-40. I only changed the oil, i left the old oil filter on it.

Re: Oil window still full after draining oil

If the oil stopped coming out, you were drained down. You can always try it again, this time loosening the oil filter and leaving the fill cap off to allow venting of the crankcase while draining.
