300v shift issues?

so i put 300v into the 600 a while back, and the gearbox seems to be shifting like ass ever since, it's only 4 weeks and 800km into useage and its been like this since i put it in, feels like it still has dirty oil in it.
before i ran motul 7100 with 0 issues, did 8 changes with it, i'll be going back next service to use it, just wondering if anyone else has a shitty shifting box thanks to 300v?

or do you think i have a lurking gearbox problem (oh fuck please no)

by the way, it only upshifts like ass, downshifting is smooth as silk.

Re: 300v shift issues?

Clutch adjustment is ok? You don't have excessive clutch drag? Oil warm, bike on rear stand. Run engine in 1st gear, pull clutch in, use rear brake to stop rear wheel turning. It should hardly turn or not turn at all after brake is released. If the rear brake slows it and it starts back up to speed real quick there is too much clutch drag for some reason.

Using a fuel controller? That's about the only other thing I can think of, excess fuel contamination of oil.

Re: 300v shift issues?

Different oils seem to have different effects on clutch and tranny smoothness. My bike likes mobil 1 and doesnt really like my usual rotella syn. It shifts kind of notchy and sticky. It feels like it hangs up. When i switched back to mobil, it smoothed right out.

Re: 300v shift issues?

nah no fuel controller.
it can't be contamination because its done it since as soon as i have put it in, i probably have clutch drag but its not that causing the shift issue. instead of a smooth clunk into gear like it should, i hear a high pitched tick (almost snapping sound) as it goes in, whether i use the clutch to shift or not, and it doesn't sound like its fully engaging the next gear properly, feels horrible on the boot.
think i'm going to drop it out and change back to 7100, see if that changes anything.
waste of $120 if that's the case... my box might just not like it though.

Re: 300v shift issues?

OP I've been having the same problem, what plate is your bike? Are you having problems with clutch draggage? I've just got a new exhaust parts from Mr.Auto that I havent tried to fit yet, I'm hoping they will reduce my footprint, thoughts?
