Transmission not engaging

Hey guys,

I recently got a 2006 gsxr750 and everything on the bike is fine except when changing gears. Whenever I change gears and hear/feel the click and release the clutch/add throttle, the bike isn't accelerating. It feels like the transmission is still in neutral and I have to wait for the transmission to engage the gear before it starts to accelerate. I can shift smooth to one gear and the next gear I'm waiting for it to engage. In the higher gear, its not that frequent, mainly 1st to 4th.

This may sound like I dunno how to shift but I've been riding for over 2 years and know to shift properly. Chain is at the right tension and oil was changed 2 months ago after I got the bike.

Any help is highly appreciated.

Thanks,
Joe

Re: Transmission not engaging

What kind of oil did you use? If you used any kind of motorcycle oil then it's time to troubleshoot the clutch or maybe adjust the cable.

Re: Transmission not engaging

I used Motul 7100 10w40, ok I'll take a look at the clutch cable and see.

Thanks for the help.
